The doodlebug Party Room is a private space where you can celebrate with friends. The room accommodates approximately 15 adults or 20 children.

Throw a party that features pottery painting, paint wooden items, do paper-crafts (scrap-booking, book-making, decoupage), have a class (clay, sewing, knitting, decoupage), or an almost infinite variety of fun activities.

We recommend that you come in to our doodlebug store to look at options and work out details in advance.

We only require a minimum of 8 people, a $50 deposit for the room and a relaxed and adventuresome spirit! If you have fewer than 8 people you may choose to gather in the regular studio space, work on your projects and then mosey on to one of the great restaurants located near doodlebug.

We can also organize "parties to go" as well as off-site classes at your home or classroom. Contact us to schedule your Party Room event today.

NEW: A MAGiC Birthday Party with doodlebug

You’ll provide your friends with directions to the secret Garden Cottage at the beautiful Marin Art & Garden Center and we’ll provide a great doodlebug art activity*, cake & lemonade and a special lesson on attracting butterflies and hummingbirds along with a special MAGiC butterfly plant to take home for every guest.

Minimum of 8 and maximum of 12 children

Cost is $30 per child

*painting a pottery item of up to $15 in value, decorating a wooden birdhouse, creating a mosaic stepping stone, having a drawing and painting lesson using watercolors or acrylic paint or designing a personal art assemblage using recycled materials. There are many more options which we can discuss, times are dependent upon availability of the cottage as well as the appropriate instructor.

Basic Party Package $25 per person

· Pottery Painting – a mug, salad plate or medium-sized box

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverage, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A Platter to be decorated by guests for the guest of honor

“Mirror, Mirror” Party Package $18 per person

· Paint a wooden mirror and embellish with small “jewels” etc.

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverage, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A wooden box to be decorated by guests for the guest of honor

“Clay Class” Party Package – ages 5+ $25 per person (max 12)

· Learn basic clay techniques and make and paint a special item which we will glaze and fire for pick up in two weeks

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverage, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A bowl to be painted/signed by guests for the guest of honor

“Drawing & Painting” Party Package – ages 5+ $20 per person (max 12)

· Work with a variety of media, learn some new skills and have a lot of fun!

· Each child will leave with a painting, a small sketch pad and drawing materials so they can continue the fun at home!

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverage, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A collage to be assembled by guests for the guest of honor

“Jewelry Class” Party Package – ages 8+ $25 per person (max 12)

· Using glass beads, each guest will learn to make a special jewelry collection (earrings, a necklace with pendant and bracelet) to take home.

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverage, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A “friendship” bracelet created by guests for the guest of honor

“Knitting/Sewing” Party Package (for ages 8+) $25/person (max 12)

· Learn basic knit stitch and get started on a lovely scarf

· or learn basic hand and machine sewing and create a small hand bag or tote bag.

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverages, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A “mini quilt” assembled by guests for the guest of honor

“Decoupage” Party Package (ages 6+) $21/person

· Take a wooden box or mirror and transform it into a beautiful, personalized work of art using unique tissue, papers, and other embellishments as well as artwork (photos or magazine clips) you can bring along

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverage, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A wooden tray decorated by guests for the guest of honor

“Book” Party Package (ages 6+) $16/person

· We’ll provide the basic 8-12 page “paper bag” book, a variety of special paper, tissue, ribbon, buttons, fabrics, markers, and other decorations in the color theme of your choice (along with “tools” and some idea-starting)

· Cake (from Royal Sweet Bakery) and beverage, plates, forks, cups etc.

· A scrapbook page designed by guests for the guest of honor

Parties for Grown-ups

· All of our party packages can be adapted for grown-ups and we can even make up some more (felting, wheel-throwing, scrap-booking come immediately to mind)

· Just let us know and we’ll see what we can do!

· We generally recommend a three hour window for adult parties

Parties-To-Go

· We can help you pick out the materials you’ll need to provide an activity during a party at your home or another “off-site” location

· Cost is simply that of the materials (including brushes if necessary)

· This may involve painting pottery at home and returning it to the store for glazing and firing OR assembling all the materials you’ll need to complete an entire project and send it home with your guests

· If we have staff available we may also be able to provide an employee to assist with your event (at $35/hour). A party of 12 or more may require an additional employee (at $10/hour).
