Create a wonderful masterpiece (your choice of project) using a super range of colors and textures of glass. You’ll learn some of the basics of glass fusing from a professional artist who creates sensational dinnerware for some of San Francisco’s top restaurants, Louise Franz. You’ll leave your work for firing and we’ll have it ready for you within about 10 days. Then you’ll have a unique piece of art to make someone’s holiday extra special!

Clay Ornaments

Create holiday ornaments from clay, hand-building or using cookie cutters.

They make a holiday gift or a great traditional addition to the family tree.

We’ll help you get started and you’ll have the choice to paint the items before we bisque them or to return to paint them before we do the final glaze firing. Please allow several weeks for these items to be fired.

Make A Menorah

Create a menorah as a gift or a very special part of the way your family celebrates the holiday. We’ll provide a few design ideas and help you work with clay to fashion a unique menorah – then you’ll have the choice to paint it before we bisque it or to return to paint before the final glaze firing. Please allow several weeks for these items to be fired.

Handprint Treasures

Create special ornaments or plaques from clay using the handprints of Grandma’s (and everyone else’s) favorite baby or toddler. This can be a lot of fun when you have a team (Mommy & Daddy, Uncle & Aunt, doting next door neighbors or whomever) but is do-able solo.

We’ll provide the clay and assistance with your technique – we’ll also have some ideas to share for finishing. These special items will be bisqued 18 days after the workshop at which time they can be painted if you so choose. The final firing will be completed 5 days thereafter.

Personalized Holiday Stockings

Create a totally unique and personalized stocking for someone special (or just for decoration! We’ll provide some very special fabrics and trims, buttons, ribbons and other great adornments and we’ll have sewing machines for you to use (or you can bring your own). We know that there will be new family heirlooms-in-the-making and we also know we’ll have fun creating them! No experience necessary! Allow 2-3 hours for this project.

Akemi Migimatsu has created a wonderful new approach to gift wrapping, along with some tools and techniques that make it easy for all of us (even the origami fearful!).

Using bright fabrics, you will learn to envelop your gifts in a penguin, or a hippo or perhaps a puppy. Akemi has also developed “grown-up” versions of her wraps which would allow you send send someone a beautiful fabric heart concealing a special something for a special someone. You will learn the technique and come away with four finished examples as well as directions for a whole menagerie of fabric creatures. This is a timely workshop which will serve you well for years to come!

Amazing Books from Paper Bags!?!

This can be way more elegant than it sounds!!

Write a story, assemble some memories, OR just start a scrapbook – there are endless ways to transform a set of paper bags into a very special and very personalized book. We’ll provide the blank book and a range of sample ideas to help inspire your creative journey. You may want to bring photocopies of photos (or the photos themselves) of special people, places or things – or perhaps some other memorabilia – ticket stubs, ribbon, buttons, a scrap of fabric or a bit of old jewelry – anything you want – or just come with an open mind. Once you’ve learned this process you’ll be able to create a variety of incredible gifts for any occasion!

Holiday Card-making

We’ll have samples and materials and will help you create some very special holiday greetings. A great way to say Happy Holidays in and to demonstrates you really care! Oh, and a fun way to spend time during vacation!

Holiday Sewing Workshops

Barsha will be on hand with sewing machines to help even the most nervous beginner create a special gift for someone special. Choose the project and we’ll have everything you need to get it done. We have samples at the store if you’d like to check them out in advance – or just come with a spirit of adventure and you’ll have a fabulous time.
